The Quesadilla Cheeseburger

When you want a cheeseburger but you want to change things up a little. The answer could be and should be the quesadilla cheeseburger.

So you have options for being able to make this burger. The two biggest is size and cooking method. I went big, and I have a griddle to be able to do this. But you could use a large skillet or a large cast iron as well.

Making this is easy and fun. I will share what I learned as important. You need to make sure the layer of meat is thin on the tortilla, not too thick. This burger will be folded and the meat will double in the tortilla.

If you have a griddle this is the best way to make these, you’ll have plenty of surface area to make all the burgers at once. I made three for my family, see the picture.

How to you make the cheeseburger quesadilla? Very Simple!

Get your tortillas out, then portion your ground beef that you will put on each tortilla. Spread it thin and evenly. Season with salt and pepper.

You’re now ready to take your burgers to the griddle. I have my temperature on med-high when I place the burger on beef side down. You’re going to cook these for about 2 min, this will give you a nice crust on the beef.

Then lower the heat to med or low if your griddle runs hot. Flip the burgers over so the tortilla will warm and finish cooking the beef, about 2 min..

Add your cheese, let it start to melt. Then take off the griddle and build your burger. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and pickles.

Fold, Slice and Serve!
